Cheers & Jeers {Utah Photographer}

I’ve had a lot to be excited for lately, but one of the things I’m MOST excited for is to get our local Smugmug meetups going!  If you are a photographer, or are just INTERESTED in Photography, please consider coming to our meetups here in Vernal (you do not have to have a business set up to attend either).  They will be once a month, and are likely going to be the 3rd Thursday of every month at “The Place” in Maeser by the 7-11.  During these meetups we will have the chance to have some fun time together away from the kiddo’s (nursing babies are always welcome) or hubby’s, some fun discussions, and build an awesome Photography community within the Basin that we can refer to for questions, or refer clients to when we’re booked on their date!  These meetings are completely free to attend and you do not need to be a member of Smugmug either.  I hope to make it a very fun and successful experience for all!
Our first meeting will be on May 12th and we will have the amazing Scott Jarvie of Jarvie Digital coming out from Salt Lake City to teach!  He is an amazing Photographer, and an overall FUNNY guy!  I hope you’ll consider coming to meet him and learn from him….after all, who doesn’t want some free education on a subject we all thrive for and want to get better at?  I know I always do.  I’m constantly learning, and I love it!  I’m hopeful to have Vanessa Rae coming to speak for our June meeting as well which will be an amazing opportunity as well!  I hope everyone will consider coming and helping us build an awesome community full of comradeship in the Basin.  After all, a rising tide lifts all ships.  Why not work together?

I applaud Starbucks for thinking of the “on-the-go” customers, but Colombia Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee is just…wrong.  Obviously anyone that is as much of a coffee snob as I am has an aversion and borderline panic attack when we think of ANY instant coffee, but sometimes you’re just in a hurry and have no choice!  After trying THIS coffee…I’d rather go without than to have a cup-a-joe like this again.   Although this is not my favorite product from the massive coffee chain, I do love Starbucks whole beans.  At home, I use the Medium House Blend with my burr grinder and grind it fresh every day I brew it (trust me, that is the only way to do it!).  Usually I’m in too big of a rush to brew at home on the week days, so i opt instead for my latte love affair: Marilyn Monroe Latte from Shiver’s and Jitter’s (our local coffee shack).  That lovely 24oz. masterpiece should have a CHEER section all it’s own.  It’s (as Barney would say) “legen-wait for it-dary”.
