Grandpa’s Green Thumb {Utah Photographer}

When I was growing up, I would tell others about where my Grandparents lived, and their usual response was, “Oh, that cute house with the really pretty yard?”.  That was the house!  The cute beige house on the corner of 1500 West that always had the most pristine yard and garden.  Grandpa had one of the best green thumb’s I’ve ever known.  This year is the first year we’ve grown a garden without him at home.  He has had a steadily increasing battle with Alzheimer’s and needed to go into the nursing home last December.  So, this year it has been up to us to grow a garden on our own, and although you can definitely tell that I don’t have quite the green thumb that Grandpa does, I’m trying.  I planted my garden in patio pots this year, and they look to be doing quite well!  Along with being a photographer, I’m also a self-proclaimed foodie.  I love great food, and I love to cook (when I have the time)!  I’m so excited to have my own fresh herbs & tomatoes to cook with this fall.  And I don’t care what anyone says…home-grown tomatoes taste SO much better than store-bought.

I got the adorable silver garden markers on Etsy from Glory Babies A2Z
